What is CRI – Colour Rendering Index?

Colour rendering index (CRI) refers to the ability of a light source to faithfully reveal the colours of various objects when compared with natural light. A scale of 0 to 100 is used with 100 being a perfect measure. In general, a CRI of 80 and above is suitable for residential and general commercial applications. The CRI is expressed as: Ra80 (for a rendition index of 80).
