The IP rating is a two digit number indicating the INGRESS PROTECTION RATING of a light fitting. The first digit relates to particles, the second to water.

If this fitting is supplied unassembled to reduce shipping cost and minimise damage, some assembly by the customer or the installing electrician may be required.
