Clearing Browser Cache - Oriel Portal

When a USER explores the website as a GUEST (hasn’t logged on) and then decides to login to check pricing, availability or to buy – the existing page “cache” from the GUEST visit may still show, and the USER features (like pricing and ADD TO CART) may not appear.

The guide below has information on how to clear cache in a number of common web browsers, this should fix the issue.

We recommend always logging on as a USER before searching products.

Clearing Cache on Common Desktop Browsers

Google Chrome

Go to the three-dot menu at the upper right of Chrome and select More tools > Clear browsing data. This will open a dialog box to delete your browsing, as well as your download history, cookies, cache etc. Select the checkboxes to clear Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.

You can choose to delete only the info from the last hour, day, week, month, or all of it from “the beginning of time.”   We suggest selecting the last day, if that doesn’t fix the problem, select the last week.

Microsoft Edge

To find your browser history, you can either

  • press Ctrl+Shift+Del
    • type “edge://settings/clearBrowserData” in the address bar


  • go to the three-dot menu at the upper right > Settings >Settings page will open > Privacy, search and services > Clear Browsing Data and select Choose what to clear


  • select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
  • Select a Time range  (we recommend “Last 24 Hours”)
  • Select Clear Now


In the Safari drop down menu (top left of your desktop screen), Select Clear History. In the pop-up, pick a timeframe for how far back you want to erase. We suggest you choose to delete history for just the last day. This will delete browser history, cookies, and cache (this does not delete any saved passwords and other saved form data).

Mozilla Firefox

In the latest version of Firefox, go to the “hamburger” menu (3 horizontal lines at top right of browser) and section History > Clear Recent History.

Click it to pick a time range to clear (we recommend “Today”), and what data to remove (in this instance select active logins, cookies, cache) and select OK.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 

For IE11 and IE10, go to the Gear icon on the upper left and select Internet Options.

Select the General tab, then click the Delete button to instantly get rid of history, passwords, cookiescached data (also called Temporary Internet files and website files), as selected. We recommend only clearing cookies and cache for the last day.
